Ever heard of Shilajit? In Ayurveda, it is often called the “conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness.” Known as one of the most beneficial substances on the planet, Shilajit contains over 85 minerals and phytonutrients. It is comprised of organic plant material and humas from the earth.

One of the main constituents, Fulvic Acid, is known for its ability to support the gut, allowing for greater absorption of nutrients and minerals, aiding digestion, reducing systemic inflammation and boosting energy levels.

Shilajit is also called mineral pitch, and is the final product of years and years of decomposing plant matter and minerals. The end result is this extremely mineral-rich, tar-like substance most commonly found in mountain ranges, mainly in the Himalayas.

Shilajit offers such a wide range of benefits that it’s nearly impossible to list them all. High in iron, selenium, zinc and calcium it totes superpowers that can enhance your quality of life.

Here is the short list of Shilajit's benefits:

1. Male Performance:

Shilajit has been used for hundreds of years to support male sexual health due to its ability to increase libido and enhance sexual performance.

In a three-month study of middle-aged men, Shilajit supplementation demonstrated significant increases in testosterone levels.

2. Altitude Sickness:

Traveling to high altitudes? You may want to take some Shilajit. It helps your body better acclimate to higher altitudes by supplying energy and nutrients more readily throughout your system. Shilajit helps manage altitude sickness symptoms, such as headaches and fatigue while also boosting your immune system. Being adaptogenic, it helps your body cope with external stresses and carry more oxygen throughout your bloodstream.

3. Heart Health:

Shilajit may help rebuild damaged cardiac tissue following a cardiac event. Animal studies with Shilajit supplementation demonstrated that Shilajit given prior to cardiac injury showed less myocardial damage than those not given Shilajit.

Shilajit also lowers blood pressure, which reduces the heart’s need to work so hard, softening the impact on arteries and veins.

Shilajit also naturally lowers blood cholesterol levels, a possible risk factor in atherosclerosis.

4. Chronic Fatigue:

Shilajit boosts energy levels and oxygenizes down to the cellular level. A study on reversing oxidative stress in patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) showed Shilajit’s ability to positively impact mitochondrial function.

5. Anemia:

Because Shilajit (Fulvic Acid) helps with malabsorption issues, it can also help those who are anemic. Shilajit boosts hemoglobin levels. Fulvic Acid also increases energy levels in those with anemia by supplying essential electrolytes and oxygenating the blood. A study in anemic rats given 500 mg of Shilajit daily showed an increase of hemoglobin levels in just ten days.

6. Dementia:

Fulvic Acid in Shilajit may protect you from dementia by blocking the development of tau protein. Tau protein buildup on the brain impairs brain cells, leading to learning and memory deficits present in those with neurological conditions.

7. Anti-viral:

Humic Acid in Shilajit fights common viral infections. Research concludes that it kills herpes simplex virus (HSV) type 1 and 2, as well as the human cytomegalovirus 32 (HCMV) and the human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). It is also effective against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria as well as Candida albicans fungi. Therefore, Shilajit can prevent a multitude of digestive, skin, and respiratory infections.

8. Urinary Health:

Suffer from kidney stones or frequent urinary tract infections? Shilajit is a diuretic that can help flush out stones and bacteria in the urinary tract. It also has a strengthening and toning effect on the entire urinary system.

9. Anti-inflammatory:

Forget taking Advil or NSAIDS! Shilajit reduces systemic inflammation and manages pain naturally, demonstrating benefits to those with rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Shilajit has analgesic properties that ease pain common to those with chronic illnesses.

10. Anti-aging:

Looking for ways to age in reverse? Shilajit might be your answer. Its rich mineral content positively impacts your skin—tightening, reducing wrinkles and accelerating skin regeneration. Providing more absorption of nutrients via digestion as well as further oxygenating the blood also leads to skin benefits, keeping you looking and feeling younger.

There are many more benefits to supplementing with Shilajit:

Stress management, managing blood sugar levels, improving bone health post menopause, regulating hormones, reducing addiction withdrawal symptoms, cancer prevention and protection from the effects of cancer treatment. . .and much more.

This is why we’ve recently added PrimaVie Shilajit to our MicroActive CoQ10 and MicroPQQ formulation.

This formula change offers additional bio-availability, health benefits and is now more aligned with the clinical doses utilized in studies.

1. PrimaVie® is an organic, purified Shilajit from the Himalayan mountains, rich in Fulvic Acid to maximize your body’s absorption of CoQ10 & PQQ. PrimaVie Shilajit is a nutrient that has been shown to double levels of CoQ10 in mitochondria. Combining CoQ10 and Shilajit produced a 56% increase in energy production in the brain—40% better than CoQ10 alone. In muscle cells, there was a 144% increase in energy production (ATP)—27% better than CoQ10 alone.

This ideal anti-aging ingredient has many health benefits: Supports male sexual health, mitochondrial energy booster, increases exercise endurance and overall fitness level, up-regulates steroidogenic genes (Patent Pending), up-regulates genes for collagen synthesis (Patent Pending) and Improves the bioavailability of CoQ10.

2. MicroPQQ® is a Patented form of PQQ and is more than twice as effective (2.2 times) as regular PQQ. 10 mg provides the same benefits as 20 mg of regular PQQ. The amount we used prior was not necessary, it simply increased the price. Our leadership team felt that reducing this to the “clinical dose” and adding the Shilajit would benefit our customers more than the prior formula. This change also allowed us to lower the price - it’s a win/win!

-Stays in your bloodstream longer! *9+ hours multi-stage release in the stomach and small intestine compared to only 2 to 3 hours with regular PQQ. Longer blood exposure may mean greater potential health benefits

- Specially formulated to enhance absorption through sustained release of PQQ for higher bio-availability

- Extremely stable and can complete thousands of redox/antioxidant cycles instead of self-oxidizing and turning inactive.
